Status of the mechanical design of the CBM MVD

چکیده
Institut für Kernphysik, Goethe-Universität, Frankfurt am Main For the design of the Micro Vertex Detector (MVD) for the CBM experiment we are following two approaches. The first approach uses advanced technologies regarding sensor integration and interconnections. The second one is a more conventional approach with well definded building blocks (sensor, carrier, cooling, read-out cables, FEE), which however incooperates advanced materials and concepts under the aspects of minimising the material budget as well as vacuum operation. The latter will be discussed here.

Availability analysis of mechanical systems with condition-based maintenance using semi-Markov and evaluation of optimal condition monitoring interval
Maintenance helps to extend equipment life by improving its condition and avoiding catastrophic failures. Appropriate model or mechanism is, thus, needed to quantify system availability vis-a-vis a given maintenance strategy, which will assist in decision-making for optimal utilization of maintenance resources. This paper deals with semi-Markov process (SMP) modeling for steady state availabili...
متن کاملPreparation, Characterization, Optimization, and Stability Studies of Aceclofenac Proniosomes
The aim of this investigation was to prepare, characterize and optimize the aceclofenac proniosomes using central composite design and carry out stability studies. Three independent variables selected were molar ratio of drug to lipid (X1), surfactant loading (X2) and volume of hydration (X3). Based on central composite design, 16 batches of proniosomes were prepared by slurry method and evalua...

متن کاملOccupancy study of the Micro-Vertex Detector for the Compressed Baryonic Matter experiment
The Micro-Vertex Detector (MVD) [1] of CBM is intended to detect the hadronic decays of open charmed particles by means of the identification of their displaced decay vertex. Therefore the MVD is located close to the collision point and will be exposed to the very high track densities from the high heavy ion collision rates foreseen in CBM. The design of the MVD requires a detailed knowledge of...
متن کاملDetector response simulation of the CBM Micro Vertex Detector
One of the major physics topics of the CBM experiment is the study of the production of open charm in nucleusnucleus collisions at FAIR energies. For this purpose, the CBM Collaboration is planning to use a high-performance Micro-Vertex Detector (MVD) based on Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS) [1]. CBM running conditions call for a MVD with high granularity, radiation tolerance, and readou...
